ftm surveys
Jamison Green the former President of FTMInternational is interested in the sexual health and satisfaction of all trans men, whether or not they have had hormones or surgery, and in the experiences of their partners. Two surveys are available for trans men and their partners to help with the research. He will use the data as raw material for a book, tentatively entitled "The FTM Guide to SEX," plus academic presentations and journal articles to educate medical and therapeutic service providers about trans lives.

Two Upcoming Drag Shows!

Hey everyone, Come check two amazing shows - this weekend and next that are part of the Queer Arts Festival in San Francisco. Buy your tickets online, because both shows will sell out!

This weekend….

Accio! All magical folks and muggles alike to Hogwarts Express: The Musical, part of this year's National Queer Arts Festival.

Friday and Saturday, June 6th and 7th
7 pm

Named by the SF Bay Guardian, the "Best Queer Harry Potter Drag Show" of 2007, this production is a queer, political retelling of the Harry Potter stories.  Celebrating the styles of drag musical performance, a diverse cast of many gendered people bring Rowling's characters to life with their own modern twists. An original version of the production was debuted as part of the SF LGBT Community Center's Launchpad series last year but for this year's National Queer Arts Festival we're coming back longer, louder, more political and even more glittery than before. With new characters, new plot twists and new dance numbers to summon the patronus from within, you don't want to miss this very last chance to see Hogwarts Express live!

This show will sell out so buy your tickets today!

Ps. This show is not for kids. There is adult content.

A fabulous night of queer performance

For the third year in a row, everyones favorite boy band, the Transformers are thrilled to present two nights of RALLY THE TROUPES. This year, in celebration of the Queer Arts Festival's 10th anniversary, Rally the Troupes will be turning our queer eyes on themes from the days of yore- celebrating bygone eras, reflecting on defining moments in queer history, and pondering the connections between history and the present.

An open letter to our communities from “Elliott” (a pseudonym), Kate Loewe stopsexualviolence@riseup.net), Kathy Ni Keefe (nikeefe@riseup.net), Samuel Lurie (slurie@gmavt.net), and Eli Clare (eclare@gmavt.net):

We are writing to let our communities know about a recent hate crime that occurred in New Mexico. We are writing to break silence, to create resistance to violence and space for healing, and to build support for the survivor. We are writing in hopes that we can take care of each other, undercut the community-wide fear that comes with hate violence, and work toward justice.

Please note that what follows contains some graphic details, which could be triggering. Also, the survivor is a parent of two children, and this information MUST NOT reach them.

So the college-wide drag show is coming up, and I have a week to get an act down.
I am performing with one other person, and we want to do something suave.
The theme is '80's' but we do not have to choose a song from that era.

So, besides Justin Timberlake, what are some good songs to do?

Updating links on site
Hey drag performers and troupes.
Drag King Rebellion is currently updating its site and with it our links.

Take a look at the page and let me know if you're a performer/troupe with a site you'd like included there. Also, let me know if your existing link needs updating. Feel free to include the DKR link on your page.

DKR reserves the right to not include troupes' or performers' pages that are deemed in direct conflict with the troupe's mission of breaking down isms and oppression. Feedback is welcome.

drag workshop help
hi everyone- i'm organizing a drag workshop for the alaska pride queer conference next month. i've never given a workshop before and although i've got a lot planned for how i think its gonna go- i want some suggestions from folks.

so- keeping in mind a few things
1. i have one hour
2. it'll be attended by all sorts of gendered folks with different interests- its not specifically a "drag king" workshop, its just that that's where my experience is.

what would you like to get out of a workshop on drag if you've never done drag before? what aspects/components would you like to see in a workshop?

thanks for helping me with my brainstorming!

you all rock.

Hi, come and join a brand-new homo/bi friendly community: happy_gay_life

This is a community dedicated to building a positive homo/bi image by sharing joyful and uplifting experiences of being homo/bi.

Ever wonder why there are so few homo/bi stories/movies with happy endings? I did.

I figure out that it has to come from us. We've got to count our blessings and share these lovely moments with each other: the special moments that bring smiles to our faces, that make our hearts sing, that tickle us, that move us to tears of joy ... on a daily basis.

Every time you share a line of joy, you're contributing to building a positive homo/bi image.

Come! Join us and have some fun!

Anyone want this community?

I've not really performed as a drag king for a while and I don't really have plans to. I'm more interested in drag queening really.

Perhaps someone is more interested than I?
